Important Service Update - March 23, 2020

To better protect our employees from potential exposures and continue to provide essential services we are taking the following measures. Effective Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 Waste Connections of TN will be changing service to “contents of cart only”.

We will be suspending collection services on any items left outside the container for trash and recycle. This change in service includes any bulky and yard items typically picked up and any extra recycle materials left outside the brown cart/bin.

Important Service Update - March 23, 2020

Dear Waste Connections Customer:

Our number one value at Waste Connections is the safety of our employees, our customers, and the communities we serve. We are closely monitoring the current situation and are following guidance from the CDC, WHO, and our state and local public health officials. We recognize that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has tremendous unknowns and could cause unanticipated service delays, service interruptions, or unusually high call volumes.

We provide an essential service within our communities and strive to meet our customer commitments. At Waste Connections, we have developed and implemented business continuity plans to ensure our operations run as effectively as possible during this unique period in order to keep our commitment to provide the best possible service in a courteous, effective manner, and show respect and gratitude for those we are fortunate to serve.

Thank you. We greatly appreciate your patience and trust in Waste Connections. We will resume these services as soon as possible.

A Driver and Simple Acts of Kindness

At least once a week, Waste Connections drivers are in neighborhoods performing an essential environmental service:  safely removing waste.  Our drivers watch out for the little children, the elderly, the distracted, and others on their routes.

One of our drivers in Knoxville, Charlie Brown, was recently recognized for his “Simple Acts of Kindness” by reporter Brittany Tarwater of Channel WVLT 9 on November 20, 2019.  Brittany reports, “He’s known as the friendliest man in the neighborhood” and he’s helped many including a family with a very sick young boy named Cameron.
